How much is too much?

When the temple opened, one feature was a security desk, just inside the front door. On events held in the meetinghouse, one could just walk in, passing the guard. He never stopped anyone. He even made friends with some of the members. When the 4th floor of the building was closed off, and reconstruction work commenced, a sign-in book was placed at the desk, intended for the construction zone on the 4th floor, not the meetinghouse on the 3rd floor, nor the temple. After a few weeks, the regular guard was replaced with another guard. He is being very anal retentive with the sign-in book. I say it's a violation of acceptable protocol for entering a church building. In any other building, you don't need to write your name in a book to go to an institute class. It is a totally unacceptable road block. It's just like those bag searches in the subway performed by the police (read: Paranoia Patrol, though the term applies only to those participating in activities prompted by paranoia). If compulsory sign-in is forced by him to attend church on Sunday, I'll go to church on the East Side. If compulsory sign-in is forced by him to attend the temple, I will promptly get on a bus, travel to Washington and attend the temple there!
